was just talking to a colleague. he was telling me about his daughter. telling me about his daughter's job requires her to be in china. and her job actually pays quite well. and even showed me her name card.

but when i asked what was it she does. he doesnt know. or rather he didnt ask. and i mentioned that its good that his daughter has a high paying job. can at least give him some allowance. he said that the daughter doesnt. “她做她的，我做我的。”

sometimes it quite sad that some parents dont know what their children are doing. or the children dont really take care of the parents. somehow i think that no matter what, parents should have a rough idea what their children doing. and the child should make an effort to tell the parent what is it they do.

HOWEVER, speaking from a child's point of view. sometimes, its kinda irritating that that parents keep asking where are you, what are you doing, who are you with, hows your job..... etc.

kind of contradicting. it depends on how both parties work on it.

parents shouldnt be too pushy about things.

children should put in effort and patience.

looking at how singapore is trying to promote family togetherness, this entry kind of fits in.
